Duplicate Default Style

So I want to mess around with the Style Editor a bit, and create a new style, but I want to start off by changing the Default Style. Is there a way to make a new Style from the default, like duplicate it?

Yes, just create a new style without a parent style. It will duplicate the default style.

yeah, you replied right before i did. good job though, i'm learning this stuff just like you.

You don't even have to do that, just copy it as a child and name it something different. I actually have three of them. The original, a copy of the original and a copy of one I changed all the colors so I can find which color goes where.
