I tried to drag drop an image into the editor but it does not seem to be working.

I've just personally tried that and it works.

Can you explain which browser and OS you're using?

I am dragging and dropping from the download bar that appears at the bottom of chrome browser after you downloaded an image from the internet. It used to be working on the old editor though. Now it does not work here on this editor or something is wrong with my browser

I am guessing something is wrong with my browser then, it could be my browser setting. I am on incognito mode. I guess that is the issue then.

Incognito imposes many restrictions on what is possible. Try it using a normal browser window and see.
