XF 1.4 Don't quote when using reply

I want quoting enabled but is there a way to prevent the reply link in each post from inserting a quote of the post automatically?

Uses a lot of screen real estate when not required.

You could remove the content in the quote. However, there will be no indication of someone getting quoted besides an alert.

Is that manually on per post basis? I wouldn't want anyone getting an alert.

It's a real problem on our existing platform where we have disable quoting unless user does it manually with BBcode. IMO a reply link/button should be just that & not insert a quote.

We are an image heavy forum & ended up with images & loads of text repeating within a thread. Makes following a thread a PITA especially when the quoted post was massive & the reply was just a few words.
