I am unsure what you mean? What I said is a very legit way of doing it. To turn off the addon for your users you turn off the permission, as it should be. That is also the reason the donate link is in permissions and not options, much more flexible.
 
I agree that your solution is much simpler for you, but a simple on/off option in the CP is much easier for the buyer of your product.
 
No, my solution is THE solution. You want me to add "a simple on/off" (it is NOT simple to add) for something you want to do once when setting up when you can already do it with an off setting (turn permission off).

My add-ons do not and never will have an on/off option. XenForo handles on/off properly in the addon area and if you want to turn a certain section on or off that belongs as a permission and not an option. If is more flexible, it works by default with how the XenForo is designed to be used and is less error prone.

Simply go into the permissions, turn it off for regular users and turn it on for admins. Then you can add your manual donations and also double check if needed on the frontend for how it will look. You can do the entire setup this way for if you want to do things like change styles around. If there was a "simple" on/off in admin you wouldn't be able to do this. And I would be getting requests to add this kind of thing.

I am not rejecting what you want because it is "simpler for me" I am rejecting it because the functionality is already there in a more flexible form the way XenForo was designed.
 
I see. I sure wish you had written some instructions about all this before you offered the addon for $50 you might not have 44 pages of questions from confused customers. We are not all coders and shouldn't be expected to know all of this - if we were we wouldn't be paying you for it we'd be writing it ourselves. But I do appreciate your detailed reply.
 
Documentation is coming. And the 44 pages aren't all questions like this, I rarely get questions about how to use things. This has nothing to do with coding. I told you the way to do it, with permissions, however you seemed to think that meant you had to be a programmer? Permissions are something you need to be familiar with to use XenForo and are as simple as an on/off like you wanted.
 
Robert, the donations are not updating in the Goals box, and the the "Sidebar Donors to Show" is not displaying. I am farily certain my perms are all correct - I have them all set to Allow in all UGs. here's some screen shots in hopes it will give you the info you need to help me.

This one shows the Top donors list (which is displaying the correct number of donors I have selected - 4) but not the $1 I donated for the test model goal. Should read $1 Raised so far. The Sidebar Donors to Show option is set to 10 but none are showing - but I readily admit I'm not sure how this is supposed to wotrk so this could be a problem on my end (it all could of course).

Another bug I'm experiencing is that the time stamps for manually entered donations is off by 5 hours. If I input 14:33 for example it will show as 9:33 instead of 2:33. I'm making allowances for it now but once that's fixed I assume those will all have to be redone.
 
Another kind of pesky characteristic is there's a default amount in the 'Custom amount' field and it changes depending on what predetermined donation amounts you have selected for your donors. As seen here:

It shows 34.95 but when I change the predetermined donation amounts it changes too. I've seen it as high as 149.95 - always ends in .95 It disappears when you tick the Custom amount box but I thought it might tell you something about the coding that would help you solve these other quirks and bugs.
 
Issue with totals is a bug but not sure if PayPal or my stuff. Does PayPal have any errors in the IPN History area?

Do you see the donation that has been created or does it not add at all?

Time off by 5 hours is really weird, I use the same date methods as the rest of XenForo so that could be a timezone issue elsewhere.

There is a calculation with the custom amount to be based on all the other amounts, I have been meaning to tweak it. How would you like it to function? I think it was meant to be the average amount + 20% or something. It is most likely bugged though.

I am about to be away for 2 weeks so hopefully we at least get the first issue sorted before I leave.

I haven't been following all of the issues. What exactly is not working currently? Thinking about installing it soon on the latest xenforo.

@XxUnkn0wnxX you probably do not have your permissions set properly. The add-on does work and has great potential, it just has some bugs that he needs to fix. Set your permissions and the add-on will show on your index. It just will not do the things I detailed in post #888 until he fixes them.

ok thanks but how do i setup multiple Paypal IPNs? beacuse at the moment i only have the payment_callback.php script set up for my vip subscriptions how do i have both payment_callback.php and donation_manager_callback.php?
