Donation Manager [Paid] [Deleted]

Have you sent them a reply stating what happened? Have you told them a software you used was using a donate function of Paypal instead of just a payment to help with a hobby site?

Give them time... big company.

I actually feel sorry for them. If their IQ was dropped a single point they may be able to claim some sort of government pension. Instead, the poor souls are there slaving away with PayPal.

I do not want to come across as a whine, I am just telling everyone to be careful with them. The smallest thing can cause major headaches, and as Robbo said, he is a sole trader. It would be very easy for something like this to happen to him, and I do not wish to see it happen to other people.

Have had frequent issues with paypal, from personal experience, they tend to be amenable when contacted by phone.

Do a file health check to make sure it is fine.

I should of course have done this first, sorry.

It appears that no matter what I do (simply replace files or complete removal and re-installation of plugin) I always get the following:

  1. library/Merc/DonationManager/Common/Base.php File does not contain expected contents.
  2. library/Merc/DonationManager/Common/Listener.php File does not contain expected contents.
  3. library/Merc/DonationManager/Listener.php File does not contain expected contents.

That is fine. Just needed to make sure you weren't missing the paypal callback. Are IPNs being sent from paypal? can you go into paypal and look for ipn history.

Robbo updated Donation Manager with a new update entry:

Beta 3.1.5 Released

Donation Manager Beta 3.1.5 is the fifth maintenance release in the Beta 3.1 series. It contains the bug fixes and changes outlined below. We recommend all customers upgrade to 3.1.5 to benefit from the increased stability.

  • reverted user promotion cron being run because it was done in a bad way which could cause PayPal to time out when notifying the server of a completed payment
  • you can extend the add-on properly with other add-ons when coming back from PayPal
You can download the new update from the products section.

Installation and Upgrade Instructions

Full details for how to install and upgrade the Donation Manager can be found in the XenForo Manual.

See if this latest release fixes the issue.

Thanks for your reply.

There was an IPN attempt logged in Paypal.

Updating to 3.1.5 has fixed the file check... will test another Donation as soon as I get chance.

Actually it looks like the user promotion system is completely broken. It doesn't promote any of my donors at all.

  • user promotions were bugged in general in the last version, that has been fixed and all promotions should be fixed on install
  • promotions will once again run once the user donates

I seem to be struggling with the file health check again since updating, not sure if I'm doing something incredibly dense....

  1. library/Merc/DonationManager/DataWriter/Donation.php File does not contain expected contents.
  2. library/Merc/DonationManager/Installer.php File does not contain expected contents.
  3. library/Merc/DonationManager/Common/Installer.php File does not contain expected contents.
  4. library/Merc/DonationManager/Common/Base.php File does not contain expected contents.
  5. library/Merc/DonationManager/Common/Listener.php File does not contain expected contents.
  6. library/Merc/DonationManager/Listener.php
Tried uploading via different clients/transfer modes and even unpacking directly on the server.

During beta file health checks are sometimes missed to get releases out faster. Those are all the files modified and I never updated the file health check (forgot this time, have to manually do things). As long as you have no issues don't worry about it.

Are your promotion issues fixed?

This latest version has taken the goal donation from the sidebar for some reason... or is it supposed to do that once the goal is met?

Also people have reported the sidebar not showing when it shouldn't but I have never been able to reproduce, might be related.

Very weird. Give me any information you can... too tired to do anything about it now but will try get it sorted tomorrow.

The donate tab is still there, and the donate page is fine. The forum home sidebar... nothing. Isn't showing the top donor or donate blocks, both being ticked in the ACP options.
