You have to toggle bb code.

But that then shows all codes, not just QUOTE tags, to be clear.

Why do you need to see the quote tags?

I sometimes want to edit manual quote tags to show the attribution (like "Brogan:" in the quote above). For instance, I might insert quote tags manually using the " button if I am adding a Bible passage to a post in our Religion & Faith forum, and then edit the attribution to show the chapter and verse reference (e.g. Matthew 3:1-10 or whatever). But that's the only use case I've ever had for it.

Right, that's what the toggle is for.

That's the only time I ever use it, or sometimes I just manually write the bb code.

I use it sometimes to see how members embed photos : IMG tags or attachments.
