XF 2.2 Display a node as a widget

Is it possible to display a node as a widget?

I would like to add some nicely formatted text to a home/portal page, but instead of entering this as html directly in the page or a widget (which is rather awkward), I would like to enter the text into a post/node so that I can use the wysiwyg editor to enter, format and edit the text. A good example would be to display a welcome message on the home/portal page.

Nodes can't be displayed as widgets.

However, to do this:

Compose the post, view the page source, then copy and paste the contents to the page node.
