I can't see this feature on our forum but would really like it.

Is it out the box?

You need to enable it for each resource category in the options.

@mugtree, it's a feature of the Resource Manager add-on from XenForo. I'm assuming that you don't have this seeing as you have posted in the Questions and Support section for XenForo rather than in the Resource Manager section.

Yep I've got it. Paid for it when it was installed. Didn't know there was a support section for it. Posted in here and had no problems before. But thanks for letting me know for the future.

Click on a resource category and select the forum for 'Automatically Create Thread in Forum'.

Right ok. The thing some users have questions specifically about the resource, eg if it is a zip file some users struggle with that. So don't want question like "How do I open the file?" showing in the forum. These are just questions for the resource owner. Any ideas?

Opening a zip file is a basic thing that computer users should know. I'd suggest having a FAQ for resources somewhere on your forums that users with limited skills can be pointed to.

I don't want all that stuff showing up in the new posts feed. So stuff like "how do i open a zip file?" and me replying "please see guide here".

Bump. How does it work please? Can I exclude the "Resources" forum from the new posts feed?

Disable this forum option: Include threads from this forum when users click "New Posts"

Ok thanks I've done that now. Gone back into resource category and set Automatically Create Thread in Forum:.
Now gone onto resource on the front end and can't see the Discussion tab?

The thread will only be created for resources created after that option has been set.
