XF 1.3 Disabling image proxy breaks image links - how to disable and retain images in posts?

I decided to disable image proxy on CycleChat because it was caching mileage progress tickers in members signatures.

However after turning it off it appears that all external images (posted whilst the proxy was enabled) are broken.

I've temporarily enabled it to "fix" those images, but how do I disable the proxy and retain the original image links?

No longer an issue - member had manually copied the proxy image link from another post he'd made, which - when the proxy was disabled - broke things.

I turned off image proxying and re-made the links manually and that sorted it.
