Currently its not possible to delete from the Direct message itself. Only from the approval queue.
We regularly find direct message abuse either through a report or latest posts on profile. Both leads to the direct message itself. Once there its still not possible to delete spam or illegal content.
Please consider to address this issue.

Does Xenforo allow anyone to delete DMs? People leave them. And once the last person has left, are they then removed?
So I don't know whether a mechanism exists for a moderator to delete DMs.

No, Xenforo does not have a function to delete Direct Messages. But the law does demand it when the message contains content that is against the law or is within the scope of the Digital Services Act or the Online Safety Act.

That means platforms now have to start implementing appropriate measures to remove illegal material quickly when they become aware of it

As this is a legal requirement in UK and EU, I'm sure that adding such functionality would make this addon very appealing to webmasters concerned about OSA and DSA compliance.
