Most "pirate" sites use such hosting so it's hard to shut them down or make them remove items.

I'm not talking about the pirate sites... I'm aware where they host. I'm talking about the people who use pirated software. If your domain isn't validated via token to use the software, then you're vulnerable by using the software, regardless of the pirate site location distributing the software.

You will find most hosts comply with DMCA / copyright. It's a minority who don't, as hosting is not an everyday business people get into. It has extensive costs associated with it.

I don't think anyone could ever brand you unreasonable. You've been too good to those that have purchased your add-ons and have taken the time and effort to accommodate in the way of adding our suggestions (basically going above and beyond) There are others who I hold in high regard (bobster65, Borbole, Chris Deeming, Luke Foreman EL (extra License) many others) you want a million tokens? I'll generate them which my point being is a very small price to pay considering the amount of work developers do and provide.

Just note if you really asked me to generate a million tokens (devs) I'd shove them all directly up your backside or die trying since I doubt any arse could take a million tokens (should probably stop typing)

My understanding is there is a single token for your URL license. You can optionally, regenerate a new token if you want, yet I see little reason for that unless you published it publicly or such and didn't want public access to such information against your license.

My understanding, is that if you used a single add-on on your 10 licenses, then you would gather the token from each license, keep it on your computer, then copy and paste to developers that requested it (or edited for licenses used) so they know who is legit and who is using a pirate copy. Especially for license based sales per install.

I never argued that developers have the right to ask for a token. My issue is with the way it's done. Let say that update had a security issue. I paid for the addon. I don't have access to customer area because I'm not the owner of the license. This is all examples.

Here is the situation. I paid for an addon. An update comes up. Now, i'm asked to verify or not get the update. This is my issue. It should be done before and not after.

Previously there was no way to confirm someone is the actual license holder.
With the new license validation it is now possible.
Just because it was not possible to verify you before does not entitle you to the grandfather clause.
