XF 2.2 Deleted posts

I soft delete posts but I can't find where they are after removed for public viewing. Where do those posts end up?

They stay in the same place, they become invisible to users and marked deleted for moderators.

Where are you seeing this? It may be an add-on as XF does not use the term soft delete, but they remove from public view.

Well, the default mode is soft-delete (not stated, but that's what it is...) while the other option that is stated is called hard-delete.

Make sure you have the permission set for use groups that you want to have this ability: (Yes)



That allows you to see the soft-deleted posts/threads placeholder. It should look like this once you soft-delete something:

Never seen either, must be an older version of XF. I just looked for hard delete and it does not exist. What version are you running?

Oh, didn't try that way. This is captured in the user permission group setting page, using the inline filter.
