XF 1.5 Default theme: edited?

This is a rhetorical question. What happens if someone edits the default theme? And, what is the best way to restore it to stock?

I'm assisting someone with a forum, and in case the default theme has been edited (I'm talking about changes in colors and such), I was thinking this might be a way to restore the default theme:

1. Create an identical copy (?) by creating a child theme, renaming it.

2. Revert all templates and color palette in the default theme.

Just curious if this would work.

If you revert changes in the default (parent?) then the child too would have the changes reverted.

You can see customized components by clicking the link in the sidebar "Customized Components".

The master style? Or the default style?

If you changed the master style, you might be able to export it to save your changes. Then just go to yourboard.com/install/ and rebuild the master data to reset it. If you're just talking about the "default style" then you can create a new style with no parent and it will become an unedited default style.
