Can someone explain this "Default" permission in user group permissions? What permission is default? (Allow or deny). Where does the "Default permission come from? Is there some setting somewhere? Is it based off registered users?

I knew someone was going to point to that thread...

In the OP he talks about Node permissions, not User Group Permissions...

Default basically means "not set" and is effectively a No. It can be overridden by an Allow in other applicable permission sets (like those of other group memberships).

In the User Group Permissions there is no inheritance. That's why I think of it as simply "not set."
