Custom node status icons

I am well aware of this:

However, it is not seeming to work for me.... I'm not a noob to this, and I've done everything listed yet nothing is changing , the node I am changing the images for still displays the same unread/read image..

I insert the code / edit the image URL and node # at the very bottom of extra.CSS

Does it still work for 1.0.4 ?

Admin CP -> Appearance -> Style Properties -> Forum List
In the main settings page, there is option to change the read/unread icons. Add your image url there. It worked for me ^^
