XF 2 Custom bridge from WordPress to Xenforo, NOT the other way round

One of my clients has a very specific setup and therefore a specific need:

His main site is WordPress using MemberPress - all members are by subscription only.

We now have set up a Xenforo forum. He was previously using BBPress but found that too limited. He is very happy with Xenforo but wants a bridge between his main site and the forum and none of the existing options works the way he needs it to - they all require a login to Xenforo first and then the bridge logs them in (theoretically) to the WordPress site. He needs it to work the other way round. We were unable to even get Jaxel's bridge to work but even if it had it isn't going to do what he wants.

So here's what is needed (minimum):

• member registers at the main WordPress site and sets up a subscription membership
• once that membership is activated, he can log in to Xenforo using the same credentials without having to re-register
• ideally, the membership status would be synced between WordPress and Xenforo

Yes. It doesn't work for us. See OP. It bridges from XF to WP. We need WP to XF, with WP as the starting point.

We already have a custom bridge which does exactly the same. User registrations are handled by Wordpress and users are sync as well as Woocommerce subscriptions.
