Crowd Moderation

Crowd Moderation [Paid] 2.1.0

I'm completely lost on what this is actually supposed to do and I feel really dumb.

I have the points threshold set to 5 points. Action set to mod queue. The user group turned off.

I was expecting a post needing to be reported 5 times before it was then sent to the mod queue. As it stands right now, everything works like default XF. I hit report and a new report is generated. I'm so confused.

I'm also wondering how it works :-) Haven't tried it yet. I just want it simple, so if a member hits report, the post goes straight for manual moderation. Because it's not that big a forum and the regular posters are trustworthy. What would be the best way to set that up? On the other hand I can see you don't want some rogue new member reporting everything in site overnight!

Incidentally this seems like a very important addon in 2025 with forum owners having to mitigate for the Online Safety Act and "take something down swiftly".

You can configure it to go straight to moderation or even make it go to the moderation queue if a member of a trusted user group reports it. It works very well. It should be in core IMHO.

Isn't sending to the moderator queue the same as sending it straight to moderation? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I'm the only moderator :-) If someone reports, then it registers a report. The only things I've had to moderate manually previously are comments on a home page (which automatically need approval) and things picked up stopforumspam.

Yes, it is. My point is that you can even make it user group defined. You can set the points level that needs to be reached for reported content to go to moderation. Then set the points / weight a report by each group has. This way you can make all reports by trusted groups go straight to the moderation queue, while make reports by non-trusted groups take two or more reports to make it go to the moderation queue.

Ok I've downloaded the standard library addon for XF 2.3 but the crowd moderation addon is for XF 2.2. Is that ok? Or should I instead download the standard library addon for XF 2.2 to match the crowd moderation addon?
