XF 1.5 Cookies and Domain Rewrite Engine.

So... I want to use the domain rewrite engine code I found in another thread here (or something similar), to make is so a new domain name I pointed to my server will get forwarded to a specific forum page instead of the home page. Is this code what I am looking for? Is there a better/easier way to do the same thing?

Also is it possible to change the cookies so that they carry across domains, because I noticed I had to log back in if I used the new domain name to access the website.
