XF 2.0 Convert addon.xml to XenForo 2

Say I install XenForo 2 from scratch and have an old add-on I want to convert to XF2. How would I go about converting the addon.xml file to files on disk in the most painless way?
Isn't there a CLI command to take a XF1 add-on and convert all metadata to XF2?

There isn't anything like that built in. Generally the closest equivalent would be to upgrade from XF1 to XF2 and then export the data/dev output for the add-on. This won't maintain templates, though really you'd have to redo those anyway.
