Lack of interest Conversations

Having used the Conversations a few times.

Would it be possible to have the participants avatar change when a reply has been posted, rather than keep refreshing the page. I would guess it would be the same server load or maybe even less.

no i mean when you are having a conversation the small avatars on the right side of the screen.

After a chat via PM, it seems the actual request is for automatic ajax refresh of a conversation to show new replies via long polling, without manually refreshing the page.
