XF 1.4 Conversation reply?

So this is weird and never seen it before.

I received a conversation from a member, so when to it but there is no way to reply to it!? There is no box, nothing. Any ideas?

As silly as it sounds but is it locked (not sure if that removes the box or not) and you cannot bypass it or are your permissions not set correctly?

No idea if it is locked. How would you do that? I am the admin with all the permissions. No permissions are set anyway, all out the box.

I use an add-on to handle my conversations and if locked you cannot reply to it so the box does not show (unless you have a permission set to bypass it) so not sure about the default settings, best to wait for someone else to reply.

Is the user still an active account, not sure if that makes a difference but I am guessing a banned/deleted account will show the message but not able to reply.

If it's just the conversation, the user chose to lock it when starting the conversation. You may be able to unlock it if you have the "edit conversation" option.

Thanks Mike, I think that might be it. As admin I can see an Edit button, but when you click that where do you go to unlock it please?

I was referring to the "edit conversation" link, not the general message edit link. Double checking, that's actually only available to the conversation starter.
