Not a bug Conversation post to many recipients is VERY slow

When creating a new conversation to ~150 recipients (or when any user replies to the convo), it often takes 1-2 minutes before each post goes through.

This results in users thinking it's their net connection that's slow, so they cancel and resubmit - resulting in many duplicate posts in the Conversation.

Not sure if that can be optimized, but there you have it!

Do you have any way of ascertaining whether any/many of the recipients have mobile push notifications enabled? We're aware that the approaches we've taken with this can introduce delays because we effectively open a new connection for each user being notified.

Oh, I see... I don't have any way of knowing this (AFAIK), but I'm guessing most of them use notifications. Many users complain when they don't get the push notifications for one reason or another.

Well, it's not the end of the world... Consider my report a '+1' for improving it - some day, somehow!

And thanks for the quick response. I have to say that XenForo is the first forum software I've ever used that doesn't suck. I recommend it to everyone.

Just to bring this one to a close, I do think this is related to push notifications. This is something we're aware of and there's an existing suggestion which is being tracked here:

Implemented - Push notifications should use a queue to send them asynchronously (like emails)

This is something in-between a bug report and a feature suggestion and I feel bad for bringing this up so late in the release process of XenForo 2.1. I just didn't notice this potential issue earlier but I think it could be important especially (but not only) for bigger forums. The issue I see...
