Conversation Essentials - A User Guide - An in-depth look at CE by Syndol

A great add-on is Conversation Essentials by Syndol, and not sure if everyone has noticed or not.... So, wanted to give a userview of what you may be missing.

You will see the sidebar, and inside the options for Conversations.
View attachment 44026
The first link simply takes you to view all of your conversations.

The second link will take you to the area where you can start a new conversation, like normal as well.

The rest of the choices are where Conv. Ess. shows it magic....

Conversation Prefixes

Another useful feature, is the addition of Conversation Prefixes. Let's click on the link and head into that area.

Pretty simple and straight forward. Let's create some prefixes now. For this test, I will create a Red and Blue one.

conv12.webp

As you can see, 16 predefined colors and a display order option for each. This is the red, I repeated it and created a blue, changing display order to 2. Once save, you are back to your prefix area.

If you are looking at how to delete your prefix, simply edit the prefix (click on the one you want edited), once inside, hit delete.

Now, to create a message.

As you can see, now you have the "(No prefix)" showing as you would in any forum that you have prefixes with. Let's send a message to our Test Group A, with the blue prefix.

Now, send as normal....

Now see this:

As you can see, there is a "Last read date". If you do not want others to know if they have viewed your conversation or not, you must uncheck the box above. This is your privacy, your choice. The default is set to "on".

Kicking / Leaving Conversations

Kicking

If you started the coversation, you may see this:

So, for instructional purposes, goblues will be booted from this converation.

An alert will be sent to that user with the reason.

Now they will have an X beside their name:

Leaving

You also have the ability to leave a conversation with this add-on, which in turn trims down your conversations.

Quick Switch Look Inbox View

Some of you like the avatar look on the Inbox View, and some prefer the regular text look. Syndol has covered that one as well.
