Considered a XenForo Owners' Social/Meeting?

I'm guessing it's a Moderator gift. Thanks for joining our team, here's a sweater.

Oh, as for the whole meet and greet thing, sounds like it could be fun but with everyone all over the place in the world, I'm thinking something online may be more convenient albeit less personal and much less fun.

A VERY long time ago, there was an informal meetup in New Jersey for PHPNuke (anyone remember that platform?) and about 14 guys showed up, including me. Regional meetings are totally doable, and getting to know other's face to face and comparing notes on how we run our communities was really helpful to me at the time. I would love to do it again. Anyone in the Washington, DC metro area?

We are almost at a point where a meetup is possible. ForumCon just needs more attention and more interesting reasons why we should go. I have a ticket ready and I'm already in for 2014.

I've already met a few xenForo members, whether they realize it or not. ;) I've also already met some of the folks that frequent admin forums over the years.

I put the XenHoodies down to being XenModerator's perks. If they became available as an actual product for XenForo's customers to buy, I'm sure they'd sell. It's free advertising, after all!

We can always just arrange a few of our own socials, or we can discuss XenForo possibly attending a con. Back when Jelsoft were in the driver's seat, I know that vB visited the Internet World Convention a couple of times - that post is courtesy of Kier back in 2007.

I originally asked because it would be a nice way to support xenforo since some of us have been here since the start, through the dark times. If xenforo doesn't want that support then that is fine. What I find odd is a simple question about hoodies which Slavik originally created about showing off his hoodie turns into a "I've got two" "then 8". I mean, are we in pre-school where that kid gloated? Why the secrecy? I know he originally created that thread, it just needed a more concrete confirmed response with some info how to purchase.

But that wasn't the case, providing that would have just been too helpful.

If they did get it as a gift from xenforo (I doubt that) I think xenforo would make is available to everyone. Eitherway, the thread turned south, now I personally wouldn't bother with one where yesterday when I originally asked i would have gladly purchased one.

I read through the forum once more just to be sure but I don't really think anyone was out to hurt anyone else's feelings. I took it like the mods were just playing around a little bit. Nothing offensive really. Don't feel too bad, I don't think they meant you harm.

For what it's worth, I think you well deserve one. You have so many Resources that everyone loves and adores and you don't even ask for contributions. Heck you turned me down when I asked if I could donate to you. We love you Shelley, be happy!

I vote for an England-based meeting somewhere easily accessible by public transport. I would be there and bring Southern Comfort, of course.

Honestly, best thing to do would be xenForo having a booth at next ForumCon.. Everyone going chips in for a hotel suite and we just have a massive after party in the suite.

Have you seen the trainwreck that some of these topics become? I couldn't imagine half of these same people in the same room at any given time.

It would be glorius.
