Connected Accounts instructions are out of date/incomplete.

Wasn't sure where to file this but the team should probably update the Connected Accounts documentation. The whole process is quite confusing and it makes it doubly so when the documentation is off. I just tried to set up Apple, Facebook, Google and Microsoft.

In all cases the documentation was not accurate. Some were missing entire steps. Some had the wrong terms. Some providers have changed the menu items or steps.

All in all the documentation is just incomplete. It would be nice if this could be updated as the process is quite daunting even for someone experienced. I feel bad for more novice users.

The Apple documentation was written a matter of weeks ago so I’m not sure how much that would have changed since.

If the documentation had an associated thread .... people could easily alert Xenforo when information may need updating.

alternatively, if Xenforo had pages as a thread type people could even make the changes and xenforo could approve them.

It has changed. I just tried it yesterday and the instructions were different. Quite a bit. Give it a whirl.

Which instruction(s) specifically? I don't have time to get into it right now, but I just tried the first 10 steps and they were all identical, and the overall design of the developer account system is the same as it was a few weeks ago.

I have taken the steps to implement Connected Accounts on my forum for Facebook, Google and Microsoft and everything is working fine.
