When you are in a thread that has a poll and you:

  • Write a comment in the quick reply first (and then not press [Post Reply],
  • and then select your vote and press [Vote]...
... you loose all the content you've written in the quick reply box.

You have to vote first and then write a comment and post it, in order to save your text from being deleted. It just happened to me and I can guess I won't be the only one my forums.

To the Mods: (arrgh... I can't edit my own threadtitle... please can a XenMod change it to: '[Bug] Comment is deleted when you press Vote on a Poll and forget to press [Post Reply]'
 
This really applies to separate forms on any page - logging in, searching etc - so I consider it to be the "normal" behavior with unrelated forms, though I agree that it would be beneficial to notify the user if they're going to lose post content. The ajax polling suggestion is a good idea.
