CometChat avatar problems

I have a ticket in with CometChat but wanted to see here if anyone has ever run into the problem of some avatars not showing up.

Here's an example of working and non-working avatars.

http://www.gotitans.com/data/avatars/s/0/694.jpg <--- works

http://www.gotitans.com/styles/default/xenforo/avatars/avatar_s.png <--- does not

Is the solution to move everything out of the styles folder and dump in with data?

The guys at CometChat came in and fixed me up. I have no idea what they did but all is well now.
