Clearing out spammed usernames

While it is not possible on my forums to provide any URLs to new profiles, I do have a few thousand spammed usernames. Two questions:
1. Is it worth the effort to clear them out? (ex. Google like this)
2. Is there a simple way that won't delete real people?

Search for users that have zero posts and have registered within the timeframe of your spammers and erase just those.

Checkout cloudflare.com it seems to have dealt with all spam on my forum.
