Classifieds

Classifieds [Paid] 1.2.0

No permission to buy ($60.00)
I'm testing the latest version of Classifieds on XenForo 2.3.9 and running into an issue with the "Ask a question" functionality.

The classifieds themselves are working correctly overall. Listings can be created normally, and I also have the automatic discussion thread creation working properly now. The attached discussion thread is being created successfully in the designated forum node.

However, clicking the "Ask a question" button on a listing always results in:

"You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."

The route being triggered ends with:
/add-question

Things I've already verified:
  • "Ask question on listing" permission is enabled in the permission analyzer
  • "Contact listing owner" permission is enabled
  • XenForo conversations work normally between users
  • Users can manually PM each other without issue
  • The listing discussion thread is being auto-created successfully
  • The thread/forum node is visible and permissions are correct
  • Users can view the thread normally
  • No PHP/server errors are generated in the XenForo server error log
  • The problem occurs for both regular users and admins
  • The issue occurs even on brand new test listings/categories
One thing I also noticed:
The auto-created discussion threads appear to be non-replyable. Even with "Post replies" permissions enabled, the reply editor does not appear, and XenForo displays:

"You have insufficient privileges to reply here."

The threads are NOT locked.

So right now it seems like the intended workflow is:
Listing → Ask Question → Inject reply into discussion thread

But since the /add-question route fails with a permission error, the attached discussion thread becomes effectively read-only.

Am I missing a required setting somewhere for listing questions/discussions, or is this a known issue with the current version on XF 2.3.x?

Thanks.

I've held off installing it as I was waiting to hear if @benFF's enhancements were included or not?
Just the fixes, at the moment. I'll look at porting the features over but getting the add-on in better shape was the focus.

I'll check this out, this seems unexpected.

You're awesome - thank you!
If you want real world usage I can give you access to the Classifieds on my site. I have it hidden from regular members until it's fully functional.

@Naz any updates? We'd really like to get this update to production and released and with @benFF enhancements included please. Any timeline for us?

Did you ever resolve it?

I am experiencing the same.

Those enhancements have been folded into v2.0.2 now. Note that you'll need to disable that add-on before upgrading. I'll get the resource listing updated here in the next few days.

The Q&A functionality is not quite ready yet, and the button was showing erroneously. I've removed it in v2.0.2.

Sounds good. But now I need to renew for $30 to update the add-on to a working version?
Good point- I've put up a hotfixed version with the button removed, so if you grab v2.0.1a from your account area, that'll sort it for you.

@Naz the add-on main description shows it's compatible up to 2.2. Can you verify 2.3 compatible, and also 2.3.11? I don't want to upgrade to 2.3.11 until someone verifies it's compatible. I have your latest 2.0 version installed. It also shows version 1.2.0 here, etc. so it seems quite a bit of review/cleanup is needed to bring your metadata up to date here.

Has anyone upgraded to 2.3.11 with the latest version of this add-on yet?

@Naz 2.0.2 installed and I upgraded to 2.3.11 and now get this error:

  • ErrorException: Fatal Error: Declaration of Z61\Classifieds\Pub\Controller\Category::assertViewableCategory($categoryId = null, array $extraWith = []) must be compatible with Z61\Classifieds\Pub\Controller\AbstractController::assertViewableCategory(?int $categoryId = null, array $extraWith = []): Z61\Classifieds\Entity\Category

I have your latest 2.0 version installed. It also shows version 1.2.0 here, etc. so it seems quite a bit of review/cleanup is needed to bring your metadata up to date here.
Yeah, it's on my list of things to do; keep getting sidetracked. :)
@Naz 2.0.2 installed and I upgraded to 2.3.11 and now get this error:
This error looks to be caused by the combination of some orphaned files in this add-on and this XF core bug.

The Classifieds 2.0 upgrade renamed several files, but the XF add-on upgrade process does not delete the old versions, so both copies are sitting in the add-on directory. Normally, this isn't a problem, but the aforementioned bug is causing those stale files to be loaded when they shouldn't be.

If you have command-line access, you can clear the old files with XF's built-in cleanup command. You can use the following command to see what will be deleted:

php cmd.php xf:file-clean-up Z61/Classifieds --dry-run

Remove --dry-run when you're ready to delete the unused files.

I'm looking into a workaround for those without command-line access.

It sounds like they are going to release 2.3.12 soon as this is a significant issue per the thread you referenced. I'll probably just wait for that.

@Naz - This the result of the dry run. I'm afraid to do anything with this many files. Please confirm.

Per Claude I used: sudo -u www-data php cmd.php xf:file-clean-up Z61/Classifieds --dry-run

Yeah, those are all expected. You're good to run that.
