I received a DM while having the forum open on two different devices. I opened it on one device and left the other alone. When I opened the other device the next morning and expanded the DM menu, the timestamp was dated in the future, "Later today at 1:51PM".
The other device never destroyed the page apparently, it just suspended it. I have seen this in other settings like the activity feed too. There is something that is causing the content's timestamp to be compared against a cached page load timestamp.
When I hard refresh on this affected device, the problem goes away so it's something on the client side.
