For someone who changes his post constantly, a real time saver. I'm loving it.

    1) How easy it is to add a new custom bbcode button to the editor? I think it's almost impossible with the current editor
    2) If you insert a bbcode and edit it, it doesn't seem to reload the page so changes may not appear.

This is regarding the CKeditor or the XF default editor?

Ckeditor is easier to change buttons than that of TinyMCE (XenForo's default) in my opinion.

Someone asked me if we'll be using CkEditor 4 in the modification being worked on....

Answer... Not at this time. We'll continue to develop on a stable build. v4 is still in beta and buggy.

CkEditor 4 is still in beta. ..... Let's 1st worry about CkEditor 3.

Which once released will be free and will be open source. So this means the whole community here can help tweak out new features and improvements.

so I checked out the demo: http://ckeditor.com/demo

it lets you go into the page/post source, .. couldn't a hacker put a meta refresh or other malicious code and mess up the site, or direct user to a spam/phishing site?

bb code is your friend ;)

CKeditor has both an html version and a bb code version. We'll be using the bb code version.

I swear I implemented inline editing using my own method in my own software

Inline editing is looking good but I don't like any of the ckeditor's skins.
