XF 1.4 Checking which database XF is actually using

I can get all the information from looking at the config.php. Just curious to know if there can be any incidence that the dB information available in config.php is not the correct indicator of the database name the system's actually using?

Is there any other way to know which database my xf install is using?

No, that's not possible unless it has been hard coded by editing the PHP files.
