XF 2.3 Checked upgrade but decided not to and now our forum does not load at all

We click on upgrade button to read what was changed and after arriving to a page with "Begin Upgrade" button and where it warn us to make a backup and that many of add-ons may break so we decided not to being the upgrade and back off. Well that completely broke our forum and we have no idea how to fix it since we never clicked on "Being Upgrade" because we wanted to check on our addons to make sure it would work in the newer version first before upgrading.

Our site is currently down and we are a high traffic site so it would be much appreciated if anyone can tell us how we could restore it asap.

Thank you

Having checked your site, the 2.3.2 files appear to be in place, so you will have to proceed with the upgrade, or restore the files of the version you were running.

And once you've upgraded there's no easy way to go back like you currently have as noted by Paul B.
We can't go back .. The update gave us a fault sense of security that we could skip it by not pressing "Begin Update" button and go back but that just only made the forum stop working all together. So now we know we are forced to update it anyway even we never clicked on the "Begin Update" button.

It not great idea to have a warning on the "Begin Update" page then a button at the button which everyone would assume as long they don't click on it then they are safe to go back to avoid updating.

We had very similar issues. In our case the main cause was likely a bad installation caused by server/host issues during instal. We resolved the server issues to the best of our ability then we reinstalled the upgrade using c-panel (manual like we used to many years ago) AND once we had access to our admin panel we disabled ALL add-on's until we could either update them to a 2.3 compatiable version or confirm they are compatable without update. We left any questionable add-ons deactivated and deleted ones that we just weren't willing to risk. (one that seemed to quietly kill us was a ticker/banner add-on).

We beleive our failed installation was made worse (it worked very briefly) by improperly merging the outdated templates BEFORE installign the updated add-on theme. After doing the fresh update/instal and installing the updated theme we didn't have any outdated templates to merge. We still had plenty of manual clean up and adjustments to do but the site worked/works.

The update broke it as we expected so we are trying to restore it now to the previous version. The developer need to re-word the Update page or as least give us a way to back out of that warning page if we decided not to update it instead of giving a fault sense of security as long we don't update we can back out of it.
