XF 2.2 Changing type of ladder field?

Hi all!

I currently have our user title ladder field set to "Trophy Points". (with trophies enabled) Can I change it to "Messages" without causing any issues? Will the software recount the totals?

Once trophies have been awarded they are not removed, so changing the ladder won't affect already awarded trophies.
