XF 2.0 Change thread routing

With route filters it is possible to create subforum URLs like https://example.com/football/premier-league/ and https://example.com/football/national-teams/. My question is if the XF2 routing system for threads can be overwritten by an add-on such that the thread URLs are prefixed by the URL of their forum? Given the examples above, this would lead to https://example.com/football/premier-league/season-2017-2018.6519/ and https://example.com/football/national-teams/world-cup-2018.6520/.
