change path for admin.php

Just wondering if it is recommended to change the Admin-Path from www.domain.com/admin.php to some other path. So using something other than "admin" ?

I have my admin.php protected with HT-Access already, just wondering if it makes sense to also change the path ?

If yes, what is the easiest way to do it ?

Many thanks!

You can do it with code edits (not just simply changing the file name unfortunately) but ultimately I don't think it's worth the trouble.

Protect it with htaccess as you're doing now.

would be great if there would be just a simple "field" in ACP which says:

"Change your default Admin-path from "admin.php" to your custom path:"
you enter your custom path, e.g. "domain.com/MickeyMouse666.php" into that field.... and that's it.

Security is quite important......

I see many XF-Forums here which are not even using HT-Access in order to protect their Admin-interface.... which looks quite scary to me   o_O
