XF 1.3 Captcha Issues

Hi all,

I am getting multiple captch erors in my server logs as follows -

Unable to Connect to tcp://api-verify.recaptcha.net:80. Error #110: Connection timed out - library/Zend/Http/Client/Adapter/Socket.php:235
Generated By: Unknown Account, 5 minutes ago

I have checked myself and the captch image comes up fine.

I have also logged into the server and can ping the url at the very least.

I have also checked my firewall to ensure its not blocking access but nothing is in there.

Yet I keep getting this message over and over.

Any ideas?

Recaptcha is a third party service. That error indicates the service was down (at least temporarily). This happens sometimes. Nothing you can do except define your own captcha.

Admin CP -> Home -> Options -> User Registration -> Use Question & Answer CAPTCHA

You can do as Jake suggested or you could get the Custom Image Captcha add-on by @tenants. Works great. I use it on all my XenForo forums (wish there was something like it for myBB).
