Can't view videos on firefox

Affected version
135.0.1
Hi I can't upload or view certain videos on Firefox 135.0.1. I can upload and view on other browsers fine but I see this with firefox.

It says no video with supported format and MIME found.

I'm using the same version of Firefox (64 bit) and not seeing any issues. It might be worth clearing your cache and cookies for any site that's giving the error.

I use Firefox 135.0.1 to upload and view videos on my site all the time without issues.
If the issue the OP is having is related to HEVC then perhaps you and I have it supported via our graphics cards. I believe a lot of streaming services use HEVC and I've never experienced a problem with it while using Firefox.

Hmm, I don't think so, streaming services prefer to use royalty-free codecs.

YouTube used mainly VP9 for a long time and AFAIK mainly uses AV1 by now.
Netflix also started to move to AV1 a couple years ago

@InsanePath
Check the codec used for the video, if it is indeed HEVC / H.265 check if your have hardware supports decoding that and if media.wmf.hevc.enabled is set to true in Firefox.

You could well be right, things change. I know Netflix was still using it a year or so ago because they were taken to court in Germany for patent infringement. I thought it was still a requirement for streaming their Ultra HD (4K) plan though. As far as I know Amazon Fire sticks are still using it.

I thought YouTube used VP9 more than AV1 but as I said, things change and it's hard to keep up with this stuff.
