As designed Can't use @ mention with a username such as 10 FAN

I have a user on my forum with the username "10 Fan". When trying to do an @ mention of their username it doesn't come up in the list.

April 2020, not an active user, hoping the @ mention would notify him and bring him back.

That’s why, the cutoff is 180 days. You can override that with my free addon,

Or just type out his name and the mention will go through.

As mentioned, there is a cut off in terms of the auto complete, though this won't apply to the actual message.

It's also worth mentioning that unless he has push notifications, the @ mention would generally just send him an alert on the site. It's unlikely to bring him back to the site specifically. (A conversation might, if he receives email for that.)
