Haha I know that feeling! Glad you got back in.

I've got a similar problem with my local test installation. There's literally only the admin account there and "computer says NO!" when I try to log in as I've forgotten* the password and the sodding browser has too. Since it's local, the password was something easy like admin, password etc, but nothing's working. I'll be damned if I'm reinstalling the forum software just to fix this! As I've got full database access, I'll try your solution @philmckrackon and will probably have an equal number of silly questions like Alvin63 here.

*Of course, the password was so easy that I didn't bother writing it down, right?

It worked very well Just copy and paste it into the SQL box in the database and replace the "new-password" bit with your new password and the User ID number with your own user ID. I had to use control V to paste it in. Right click didn't want to do it.

I used the server's chatbot to direct me to SQL and the right place to paste it

Oh and when you set your new password in SQL - write it down somewhere or screenshot it before you run the text! So you can remember it when logging in the first time afterwards.

My advice is to make it as simple as you can then once you login change it via the admin panel. Don't overcomplicate the password fix.
