Can someone explain the different user states

See I've just sent out a mailer, about 200 emails bounced (god that was fun) anyway I was going through the bounced emails and then looking them up in the ACP and removing the emails one by bloody one. Then it dawned on me the bloody user states, they must be good for something.

Anyway it's too late now, I've done it the hard way but I'm guessing I can use the userstates in the future. Can someone confirm a good process for me?

The two you need to be aware of with regards to emails are:

What is the difference between Awaiting email confirmation and Awaiting email confirmation (from edit)?
Awaiting email confirmation is the user state of newly registered members who haven't yet clicked on the link sent to them via email to verify their account.
Awaiting email confirmation (from edit) is the user state of existing members who subsequently change their email address and need to verify the new address is valid.

Cheers Brogan, why does Xenfofo differentiate between the two?

It just gives more granularity with regards to emailing members.

You can also tailor an email to members who have never confirmed their account, and a completely different one to those who have but haven't confirmed their new email address.

Yes. I believe the notices will work nicely for that when 1.1 comes out though.
