XF 2.1 Can a thread field's requirement be based on another thread field?

Is it possible to make a custom thread field only be required depending on what was selected for another custom thread field?

For example:
"Do you like dogs" ( ) Yes ( ) No
"What's your favorite dog breed?" [ text field]

If they check Yes on the first question, the 2nd question is required. Otherwise they can skip it.

There is nothing built in which will do that.
