Cache not refreshing

Yesterday, I uploaded some new default avatars to replace the male,female and question mark images. I cleared my browser cache and they all showed up fine. However, when I looked at my site today using chrome, the old avatars are still there.

Should the built in cache system (if there is one) ave refreshed by now? Basically, the only way for previous members to see the new default avatars is for them to manually refresh their browser cache.

Is this how it should be or is there an automated cache cleanup that should run? Or is there a way for me to manually clear the avatar cahce in ACP?

That would be the browser cache which is beyond your control. Unless you were to change the location of the images, such as by renaming the images directory:

Admin CP -> Appearance -> Style Properties -> General -> Path to Images
