Better Blogs [Deleted]

Thank you for the module in the first place!

Still, I have some troubles with viewing rights of data, imported from vBulletin.

But
the group is Unregistered / Unconfirmed in Blogs Permissions / Can view the blogs section: is chosen Allow.

And the group Registered ‘sees’ imported blogs.

Also, i need correct redirects for blog pages:

Blog Post:

old: domain.com/blogs/sallycooper/21087-i-can-fit-into-my-jeans.html
new: domain.com/xfa-blog-entry/i-can-fit-into-my-jeans.232/

Please help me to solve this problem, User pages drop out of Google search.

Permissions are not imported, you need to set those up again :)

I do not currently have official redirect scripts. However, I can share the one I use on my site since I know it works, but it is unsupported.

You can use it as a drop-in replacement for the blog.php script provided by vBulletin (backup the original blog.php file first). This will assume that you already have a 301config.php script from the vBulletin redirect script. It will redirect to the new blogs. A coder could also use it as a base if it needed any changes depending on the installation. And it will work with vbseo.

Unless you know what you are doing, do not buy the multi-site vanity urls option.

Hi @Syndol, not sure where to get support from you, thus I am posting it here. After installing Better Blogs, it tends to change some layout of my forum theme i.e. Arty's Soft/Black Responsive. So far I only found three as per screenshot attached. However, I am not sure if this issue is with the theme or the blog. Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you :)

Feature request:

The option to delete blogs or edit them should have a time limit. For example, on my forum we allow up to 120 minutes (2 hours) for people to be able to delete or edit things. This isn't something that seems to be associated with Better Blogs.

@Rigel Kentaurus could you kindly see the above repprted issue? I tagged the wrong person lol! I think I was sleepy! Didn't notice it until I come and check for updates. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

P/s: sorry @Syndol for tagging you unintentionally. :x

The main theme from your forum definitely should not change at all, but the blogs use it's own container (BLOG_PAGE_CONTAINER), so, if your team has changes to that template you need to apply those there as well

Hi @Rigel Kentaurus , i wanted to re-download Better Blogs but the download link has expired and I have actually sent an email to request for the download link again, unfortunately i hear nothing from your end. Could you kindly respond to that email? Thank you :)

Could you please register at http://xfaddons.com and send me a private conversation there? I have a private area for members with the downloads. I'll just give you access

Hi @Rigel Kentaurus I forgot that I can download from your website because there are many addons out there I bought who uses temporary download links/own forum/etc. I have downloaded from there. Thank you :)

No, there isn't.

Bummer. Any plans for it? (or any other ideas?) I'd really like to use your add-on but I'm coming from vb 4.

I'm thinking:

- I convert my vb 4 board to XF 1.2
- I downgrade a 2nd copy of the database from vb 4 to vb 3.8
- I delete the "blog threads" the XF creates
- I run your vb 3.8 importer and import the data from the second database to the new XF board

Would this work? Would importing it this way associate the blog entries (vb 3.8) with the proper users who've already been imported to the XF board (from vb 4)?

You might not even need to downgrade, the database is so similar that the import from 4.2 would probably just work. My understanding is that vBulletin really didn't introduce new features with vBulletin 4. I recall in this thread somebody doing an import from vb 4, and it just works, but I can't recall whether it was 4.1 or 4.2

Alright, it's worth a shot. I'll just make sure to do several test runs. Thanks.
