Thinking about getting my mom one. Saw a 13" Macbook Pro 2012 for sale on Craigslist for $800.

Also saw some cheap ones on Gainsaver but didn't see that many 2012s.

lol @ not that much difference.

I am finally almost done weaning myself off of Windows 7. Only thing left is to find a good DVD burning program that's as fast and efficient as ConvertXtoDVD program for PC.

I've ordered from macmall.com in the past for someone. Always got the same items I could just as easily get on Apple.com. But to take it 1 step further, I also have a local Apple Store which I compared it against after purchase.
 
I've had friends order from macmall. You're pretty much screwed in terms of finding a cheaper source as if it were a PC. Mac doesn't distribute to just anyone and if they do it's not at a discounted rate...


Alternatively, just find a student or a teacher and ask them to let you use them for a few hours. Go to the mac store and say you're buying it for them but what the educational discount *I believe it's 10%*
 
Don't settle for 128G Flash - go for the 256.......
I've been running too close with my 128G, even though it's not my production machine. Then again, if mom is not going to have thousands of pics and vids, 128 may be fine.

I'm giving mine to daughter #2 for Xmas and going with a 256G something. That Macbook pro with 8G ram and 256G flash is tempting for about 1300 refurb. In fact, I think I may buy that today.....

I want the larger RAM for Final Cut - which may not use it all anyway, but what the heck? The stock market is booming so I may as well give some of the money I make on apple stock back to apple!
 
Well, I went for a Amazon one - 4G Ram and 256 Flash 13.3
I had some "free" Amazon money from my affiliates, so it made for less pain.....
