BB Code Manager: BB Code XML Repository

Well you can include as many spaces as you want (not inside tags obviously) without breaking the table...and use these spaces for your visual aid while building your table in the editor..just don't hit enter :-).

for example
Code:
[TABLE][TH]-------------------[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD][/TR] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [/TR] [TR] [TH]This is a header cell.[/TH] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD] [/TR] [/TABLE]

As long as when your constructing the table in your editor you only use spaces, the editor will automatically truncate all spaces into 1 space only which will work as far as I have seen from testing

Good to know. On my old forum it had to be an unbroken string otherwise it did odd things to the final output.

I actually compile my tables in Excel and use concatenation, far easier than using the editor :)

OMG yeah that is...I just googled up some excel tutorials and LOL what was I thinking doing that in the editor...I was thinking to myself...jeez Brogan how often do you have to produce a table for circuit standings (like the example from your page), and how much coffee do you drink in the time spent entering all of that information! You just explained that without me asking. :) nice

I you have any small examples of doing that in excel I'd appreciate it, takes a long long time for me at the moment

A couple of screenshots.

The first image shows the concatenation formula for each cell.

The second image shows the result of the concatenation; done for each row initially and then another step to combine the output of each row.

Yellow cells are where you enter the data.
You just edit the table tags to suit; using TR1 and TR2 if you want alternating row colours, for example.

You then just copy and paste the long string in cell I7 into your post.

thanks, thats much quicker

Mit video Bbcode

Import mit bbocde xml

Usage: to get the video name you will need to click the 'place on webpage button' on a http://mitworld.mit.edu/video/ page and grab the file name after: flv=

example:
if this is the embed code they give you
Code:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="481" height="361" id="Main" align="middle"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://mitworld.mit.edu/flash/player/Main.swf?host=cp58255.edgefcs.net&flv=mitw-01349-museum-laser-50-hecht-08oct2010&preview=http://mitworld.mit.edu//uploads/mitwstill01349museumlaser50hecht08oct2010.jpg" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><embed src="http://mitworld.mit.edu/flash/player/Main.swf?host=cp58255.edgefcs.net&flv=mitw-01349-museum-laser-50-hecht-08oct2010&preview=http://mitworld.mit.edu//uploads/mitwstill01349museumlaser50hecht08oct2010.jpg" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="481" height="361" name="Main" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></object>
grab this part
Code:
mitw-01349-museum-laser-50-hecht-08oct2010
and then simply place inside of mit tags
Code:
[mit]mitw-01349-museum-laser-50-hecht-08oct2010[/mit]
It will look something like this...

Do we have any bbcode that works with iframe?

I have some books from Amazon that i need to display in iframe like this

Code:
<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=quantfinaneng-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&asins=0470192739&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"></iframe>

I am trying really hard to make the table function work! BUT being a dumb ass is really complicating things

I have a user that wants to post information in table format to preserve the formatting with information like this....... The information below was separated into rows and columns...

10,200lb Pro Stock Tractors
Driver Name City/State Vehicle Pull Distance
1 Lance Little Tuscola IL True Grit Full Pull / 241.42
2 Don Masterson Grandview IN Tinker Toy Full Pull / 214.09
3 David Justison Hillsboro IL Living The Legacy 242.22
4 Jeff Sapp Huntsville IL Big Country 238.9
5 Brian Shramek Williamsburg MO Git Er Dun Deere 236.36
6 Troy Bader Monroe WI Forever Green Edition 236.29
7 Randy Bader Monroe WI No Fear Deere 235.72
8 Tim Brinkmeier Warren IL Fuelish Pleasure 235.23
9 Mark Lawyer Hagerstown IN Rapped Up! 233.41
10 Chris Cain New Palestine IN Aces Wild 224.77
11 Dustin Hook Fulton IL T-bone 211.69
12 Brad Moss Adairville KY Young Buck 123.52

Is there a simple way to accomplish a cut and paste operation with table information?

I have installed the BB manager mod and installed the Table BB codes ( Thanks Brogan!) I have been trying different things , such as pasting the information in Excel and then coping it and adding the
tags... So far I have had no luck....
Any tips?

Have you seen this post? I haven't extensively tried excel + bbcode output but from the images in Brogans post seem to do what your looking for...
A couple of screenshots.

The first image shows the concatenation formula for each cell.

The second image shows the result of the concatenation; done for each row initially and then another step to combine the output of each row.

Basically the concatenation of the cells will merge all the data into one cell to the right of them all. If you notice in between the columns you will see.. ( | = denotes new cell in my explanation)
[tr][td] | actual cell | [/td][td] |actual cell | [/td][/tr]

and in the "I" column you will see the concatation formula which in excel will output as one cell:
| [tr][td]actual cell[/td][td]actual cell[/td][/tr] |

the last concatenation formula at "column I, row 7" will take all the concatenated output of the rows ( my example was one row, if you have more than one row which I'm sure you will, then you will need to run another formula to merge all that concatenated data from the the I column into a single cell.) and populate all that data into one cell which you can with ease copy and paste.

Hope that explanation helps

Thank you for your help.... IF I understand the correct use of this method it seems that it works only for tables you build for your information...

Is there a way to just show information that was already in a table form being displayed on a web page? My user wants to take information off of this page http://www.farmmachineryshow.org/Tractor%20Pull/tpResults.aspx ( with permission) and post it in a topic.... Excel is so far over his head that I will never make any progress...

That would be possible with a preserved formatting tag, which I also use on my site.

Brogan, off the top of your head do you know anything about multiple options in tags and how a user would post it?

I thought I had it but I broke it...

(I only asked Brogan as he was here a minute ago in this thread...if anyone else has an answer or suggestion I will gladly take it.)
