Not a bug Batch delete users accounts - only deleting 18 per iteration - is this intended or a bug?

I've just used the new batch user feature to delete 1776 spam accounts (from about a year ago, but all sharing the same email domain) - and it's taking ages.

It seem to be deleting just 18 users accounts with each iteration - is this due to a processing overhead (removing traces of the user account from many tables) or is this bugged, i.e. it should run much faster?

It deletes however many in can in a certain period of time (10 seconds by default). It has to check a lot of tables and you might have add-ons that affect it.

Large tables that aren't indexed as necessary may be slow to delete. This isn't inherently a bug as it may not be justifiable but it may depend on the situation.
