Banned members showing in Members online widget and Current visitors page

When a banned member attempts to log in, their last_activity is still updated. This causes them to appear in the "Members online" widget and on the "Current visitors" page.

Expected behavior: last_activity should not be updated for accounts with a banned status.

Would have to disagree with this one, it's quite useful to record when a banned account was last accessed. It can be operator preference to not display it within the members online widget, but it's harmless either way. Losing the activity record would be negative effect in our opinion.

I totally agree with you. There are a few reasons why you would want to see when banned users revisit the forum. Number 1 would be better spam control.

No

There's no need for regular members to see banned members in the online lists. A better thing to do would be to exclude them so that only mods/admins can see them or through a permission for more flexibility with usergroups.

A regular member will just see that they are online but they won't have a strikethru designating that they are a banned member.
