An example, if a spam bot registers with IP address 11.111, I usually put the star last. Like this, 11.111. * Does it make a difference, does it block an entire IP ranch?

If you use a wildcard, everything after the wildcard will be blocked.

I would not recommend doing that for IP addresses, unless you are certain the entire subnet is being used by spammers.

I first look up where the IP address comes from. Most often it is Russia or Ukraine. Then I use it but also at very suspicious IP address. what is wild card?

When an IP is banned and a user triggers it, what do they see, exactly? I can't seem to find it (yes, I've searched), and I'd like to edit that.
