XF 2.0 Avatar indicates user posted in thread but thread has zero answers

Hi,
a member sent me a screenshot where his avatar is shown in the small edge of the thread-starter indicating that he has posted to this thread. Interestingly nobody has posted an answers.
I suspect a caching issue, but which XF cache stores the "user has posted x-posts in thread" ? Is this the user-cache ?

Thanks,
-Markus

You mean like this?
Screen Shot 2018-07-30 at 4.57.02 PM.webp

Noneof those threads have a reply (and they shouldn't as I'm the only one allowed to post in those. If you notice, my small avatar is shown in the corner of my normal one.

I have to up that thread ...

I noticed the fact if one is the only poster as well. The problem some members describe is that they are seen in a zero-post thread they have not started:
Unbenannt.webp

In this sample User "kirix" started the Thread and the screenshot was taken by a moderator. Could having moderation rights an influence on that? Anybody else seen this ?

TIA,
-Markus

I thought of caching as well. But looking at the HTML-source of a correct avatar (thread started by other user and I posted), there are in fact two distinct <img> elements refering to the avatars involved.

So that rules out web-caching as the source.

As usual, try with a default style and then start the process of disabling (and re-enabling) add-ons to eliminate any of those factors being involved since it appears you are using a non-standard style.

We had this issue @ DBTech after importing from vB4. For some reason, threads that were created on vB4 would randomly display the "has posted" avatar, I would run the rebuild threads with the box ticked, it would fix the issue, then 5-10 minutes later the avatar would come back.

No new threads going forward has exhibited the issue thus far, not that I've noticed or had reported.

Thanks Brogan and Fillip for the tip/info.

It is really hard to track down as it does not happen each time. I've instructed users to send me screenshots and note anything special.
I'll do the rebuild over the weekend.

Thanks,
-Markus
